Do No Significant Harm (DNSH)

Do  No Significant Harm (DNSH) is a principle that underscores the EU’s approach to sustainable growth and stipulates prevention, control and risk reduction of any environmental harm. DNSH is subject to Regulation (EU) 2020/852 of the European Parliament and Council of 18 June 2020.  The main goal of DNSH principle is to evaluate the impact of commercial and business activities on six environmental aspects:

  • climate change mitigation;
  • climate change adaptation;
  • the sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources;
  • the transition to a circular economy;
  • pollution prevention and control;
  • the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems.

Evaluation of DNSH principle and ensuring no significant harm to any of the environmental aspects is the key to obtaining various EU funds.
